- Complete your profile
The more information you put into your profile the easier it is for others to find you. Compare your profile with those of other members. The more you put into the network, the more benefit you will derive from it.
- Finding and adding contacts
The search function “Members” enables you to find contacts that are relevant to you. You can narrow down the results by using additional search fields. The Powersearch allows Premium Members to search, in a more targeted manner. You can also set up search agents that will inform you as soon as they find a member matching your search criteria
You can invite other members to join your network by clicking on "Add this person as a contact". You should keep quality in mind choosing contacts you want to add.
- Privacy settings
You can change your privacy settings under "Start"->"Settings"->"Privacy" at any point to protect your privacy and decide for yourself at any time how public or private you wish to be on XING. The default settings specify that personal information about you such as your email address is not visible to anyone, whether they are only visiting XING or registered users.
- Sending messages
Premium Members can connect any member of XING by sending a private message. Try to make sure that your request matches the interests or "Wants" and "Haves" of the other member and that your message is personalized..
- Extend your network
Recommend XING und expand your network! Go to "Address Book"->"Invite ". You will find model texts in 16 languages.
